The Hannah Rose Foundation

Shaken Baby Syndrome

1,200 and 1,600 children die every year in the United States from SBS. The Hannah Rose Foundation was formed to raise money to educate people about the fatal consequences of shaking your baby. It is our mission in life to prevent this from ever happening again to any child!

Prosecution rests …

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

Dear Friends,

Several days ago the prosecution rested. The defense began and the stories are once again changing from one thing to the next. The witnesses for the defense are not remembering what lies were told 2 years ago and have been caught while under oath.

The reality of the circumstances are starting to hit home for the defense and there is no way they can hide from the truth. The Placer county District Atty’s office is fighting for Hannah the way any parent would hope for if tragedy strikes their home. We pray everyday for the right outcome and know in our hearts Hannah is alive in spirit. We are thankful for our friends who are attending court everyday with or without us. Bob & Mary, Janet, Jim and others have saved our lives by being the best advocates on the planet. Please continue to pray for our family.

End of the 4th week …

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Dear Friends,

Today marked the end of the 4th week of trial. As we started to prepare for the proceedings we were a little more aware of the way things worked in the court and how the Criminal Justice system operates. The defense has attempted to disregard the admission by Veronica Salcedo Martinez and her actions that sent Hannah to the hospital in the first place. Veronica explained to the police exactly what happened on May 11, 2006. Our family is grateful for the efforts of all Law Enforcement involved in Hannah’s case. The Placer County District Atty’s office has done a great job in laying out the facts and circumstances that led to the arrest of our former nanny. We will continue to fight for our daughters rights in and out of the court. The prevention effort is ongoing and all kids should be protected and safe from any form of abuse. The most important message that will come out this entire process is DON’T SHAKE BABIES.

Second week of proceedings is over.

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

Dear Friends,

We thought that writing about the trial daily was going to be relatively easy. The pain related to our loss is so great that we are exhausted at the end of every day and there really is no way to go through it again and again day after day. We are holding up quite well to this point after the second week of proceedings. The trial is expected to last until late June. We are certain that the state is doing everything in their power to provide the jury with the information that will help them convict our former nanny for killing Hannah. We want to remind everyone that this trial never needed to take place. We asked the defendant to do the right thing and avoid this devastation that is taking place every day we walk into the court.

The trial is going as well as can be expected and our family is bonded and will continue to live and educate the public on Shaken Baby Syndrome. Please continue to pray for us and hope that this will end soon.
